Alph Franklin Crego, age 89, passed away July 24, 2016, at Mt. Carmel West Medical Center.

He was born May 22, 1927 to the late Charles and Garnet Crego.

He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Eva; daughter, Connie and son-in-law Jim Trytek. He also has many nieces and nephews and he loved them all.

He was a member of the Coast Guard during WWII. He was always proud to say it was his honor to bring many of the soldiers home from the war to their loving families.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Harold, Steven, Marvin, William, and Omer.
Alph was an Oldsmobile mechanic for 30 years until 1978 when he and his son-in-law, Jim Trytek, opened University Auto Service and continued the great tradition of caring for many long time customers cars.
After his retirement he and Eva began traveling this beautiful country in their Holiday Rambler motor home. They visited all 49 states and most of the provinces of Canada. They were active members of "The Hoots" HRRVC and "The Ohio Nomads" FMCA for many years.
Everyone they met on their travels became good friends. He was always there to lend a helping hand if it was needed. He was always a great man and shared his love with all.

He is now at peace.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM, Thursday, July 28, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home and Crematory, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 PM, Friday, July 29, 2016.

Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery.
