Robert Leroy Wilson, 72, of Mount Sterling, Ohio, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Mount Carmel West Medical Center. He was born November 16, 1943 in Bookwalter, Ohio to the late Orville and Glenna Whittridge Wilson.
In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Ann Wilson; brothers, Orville, William, Rodger, and Carl Wilson; and sisters, Gladys Hidy and Loretta Long.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sue Hale Wilson; son, Gregory (Ted L. Johnson) Wilson of San Diego, California; two sisters, Mildred Beekman and Elaine (Jack) Martindale both of Washington Court House, Ohio; as well as many other family members and dear friends.
A master craftsman for almost forty years, Bob was retired from his own business, Accent Upholstery, located in Mount Sterling, Ohio. Bob was a veteran of the United States Navy and a devoted member of The Knights of Pythias.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bob’s memory to the American Cancer Society (donate.cancer.org) or the Capital Area Humane Society (www.cahs-pets.org/i-want-to-help/donate).
A visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio on Thursday, August 25 from 4-7 p.m. with a memorial service to begin at 7 p.m.
