Norman Perkins, age 96, passed away Friday, August 19, 2016.

Born on December 31, 1919 in Columbus, OH.

Retired as an engineer working on circuit breakers and switches from Siemans at the age of 65. He worked as an engineer in Ohio, Maryland and Georgia and has several patents in the electrical industry.

After retiring, Norman moved to South Carolina.

Veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in WWII as an MP in the 42nd Rainbow Division.

He was in CCC's from 1937-1939 in Northern Idaho. Norman also served as a scoutmaster of Troop 34 for three years.

Surviving family includes daughter, Nancy (David) Kalb; granddaughter, Rebecca (Ray) Reckelhoff; grandson, David (Celeste) Perkins Jr.; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Rosemary (Cal) Hobbs; daughter-in-law, Alicia Perkins.

Preceded in death by wife of 38 years, Barbara; second wife of 30 years, Thelma; 2 sisters; 1 brother; son, David Perkins.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 22, 2016 from 10-12 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home and Crematory, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm at the funeral home.
