John H. Myers (Popie), 92, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 in Gahanna, OH. John was born on November 17, 1924 in Columbus to Willis and Marilla Myers.

John is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 67 years, Betty Myers; brothers, Lee and Jack; sisters, Ethel, Mary, Dorothy and Marie; and granddaughter, Tina Campbell.

He is survived by his daughters, Janice Stafford and Wanda (Bobby) Jones; grandchildren, Missy (John) Dillman, Brian Jones, Bobby (Sue) Stafford and Kelly (Dustin) Townsend; great-grandchildren, Tommy, Johnny and Katie Campbell, Morgan and Abby Dillman and Hadley Stafford; one great great-grandchild, Faelynn Campbell; sisters, Ruth Dillon and Betty Fast; special niece, Jane (Tom) Smith; and many other loving family members and friends.
John was a Veteran in the United States Army. He worked for North American Aviation and then Dixie Distributing Company until his retirement. John was an avid Buckeye fan and loved watching football and basketball. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Family will receive friends on Monday, February 20, 2017 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43231. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 10:00am also at Newcomer Funeral, NE Chapel, with Pastor Mike Brown officiating. John will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, www.lls.org in John's honor.
