Beatrice J. Griggs (Basich), passed away March, 18, 2017 with family at her bedside. Born September 14, 1928 in Athens County, OH, to the late Clarence and Mary Smith. She lived in Columbus, OH, where she worked and retired from Park Medical Center. Recently she moved to Mechanicsburg, OH, where she volunteered at McAuley Center Nursing Home in Urbana, OH, until 2016. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister Helen Dillon, brother Dick Smith, first husband Lawrence Basich and second husband Charles Griggs, granddaughter Renee' Basich and loving companion dog "Tobie" She is survived by daughters Christine McNally (Joe), Charlene Warner (Steve), Beverly Finkel (Steve), Benita Riggin (Gene), sons Gil Griggs (Brenda) and Doug Griggs, grandchildren Derek Corneau, Stefan Basich, Stephanie McNally (Richie), Suzanne Cole (Shaine), Gina Clark (Jeff), Sarah Finkel (Sonny), JR Griggs (Heidi), Jamie Diendle (April) and Jeff Diendle, and numerous great grandchildren.

Friends may call at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd., Columbus, OH, on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 4pm until time of service at 6pm.
