In Memory Of
Bobby Joe Bailey
1939 - 2017

Bobby Joe Bailey was born November 22, 1939, in Halifax County Virginia. He was born to the late Harvey and Ellen (Hundley) Bailey. He departed this life to be with the Lord and Savior, at the age of 77 years old Tuesday, June 13, 2017, from the Zusman Hospice Care Center.

Bobby surrendered his life to the Lord and was baptized at an early age.

He worked at Veteran Memorial, Gaywide Products and Wireforms.

Since 2003, Bobby enjoyed spending his days and time at the Heritage House which is now National Church Residences. He was known to tell jokes and play jokes on the staff and clients there. He had a special group of friends that he sat with daily enjoying activities such as bingo, going to the farm and watching TV. His best friend was Tenna, who he spent a lot of time with at National Church Residence. He would say he was most happy when he had money in his pocket. He would always tease everyone when he had money in his pocket saying, “he can buy whatever he wanted because he had some money.” He enjoyed buying himself Mountain Dew and 7-UP soda to drink. He used to tell everyone that his favorite thing at National Church Residence was snack time and going home. His favorite song was “When we all get to Heaven”. He enjoyed playing baseball at a young age.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Ellen Hundley; brothers, Billy and Fred J. Bailey; sisters, Marian K. Bailey and Eleanor J. Hill.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his sister, Sheila Bailey; brother, Ralph S. Bailey; special niece, Joannie Haslett plus many other nieces, nephews and a host of many relatives and close friends.
