In Memory Of
Lorna Flaherty
1941 - 2017

Lorna Sue Flaherty (née Wright) went to Heaven surrounded by her family on July 9, 2017 in Columbus, Ohio. She was 76 years old. Lorna was born on July 5, 1941 in “Flytown” Columbus, OH to her parents, Leora and Loren Wright. She was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She lived life to the fullest, but wholly on her own terms. Lorna’s family was her pride, joy and purpose in life.

She will always be remembered as a loving matriarch, even as the family continues to grow. She is survived by her four children, Tamara (Donald) Turner, James Patrick (Deborah) Flaherty, Bridget (Ronald II) Frash and First Sergeant Riley Flaherty; sister, Penny Wright; brother-in-law, C.D. “Jr.” Smith; many grandchildren, and one-great grandchild. She will also be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Lorna was preceded in death by her sister, Kaye Smith, and her parents, Leora and Loren Wright.

A Memorial Mass will be held on July 13, 2017 at 10 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 3730 Broadway, Grove City, OH in celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers, the family graciously asks that donations be made in the name of Lorna Flaherty to the Association of the United States Army (AUSA.org). But as Lorna often said “to each their own”.
