Richard Henry Mueller of Columbus passed away on July 11, 2017. He was born December 8, 1924 in Evanston, Illinois to the late Melva and Richard Mueller, Sr. He graduated from Amundsen High School, Chicago, attended Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago. He served in the U.S. Army, WWII, 24th Division, 19th Infantry Regiment in the South Pacific and Japan from June, 1942 to February, 1946.

He spent thirty years in various domestic and international technical and sales assignments with Controls Company of America and The Singer Company. He retired from Illinois Tool Works Inc. in 1989 after completing an assignment as Director of Sales and Marketing for their English subsidiary company located in Portsmouth, England.

He was an avid black and white photographer winning many awards and was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church.

Preceded in death by his first wife Barbara.

Survived by wife Norma, daughter Janelle Bleske (Ed), sons Raymond Mueller, Thomas Mueller (Nancy) all of Milwaukee, WI, step-sons Michael Steward (Melany), Richard Steward, Daniel Steward (Rebecca), grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A private memorial service later at Dayton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Riverside United Methodist Church or The Ohio Living Life Care Fund.
