Janice E. Hutton, age 64 of Cardington, OH, passed away on August 10, 2017. She was born May 23, 1953 in Clinton, IA to the late Edward and Betty Lou Hutton.

Janice is preceded in death by her husband Steven R. Hazlewood.

She is survived by her daughters Jennifer Martz (Alvarado), and Rebekah (Mike Zortman) Ridgeway; grandchildren Cody and Sarah Marquette, Jarrod Feldman, Donovan Martz, and Madison Zortman; great-grandchildren Weslee and Marlee Thomas, and Maliah Marquette; sisters Peggy Shaw, and Kathy Hutton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Janice graduated from Clinton High School class of 1971. In addition she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from St. Ambrose University. More recently she obtained her Master’s degree from Capella University.

Janice was an avid animal and nature lover. Early in life Janice was very passionate about Civil Rights and Women’s Rights and participated in many marches and demonstrations. She proudly served our country in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves. Janice dedicated much of her time over the last several years to social and charity work, centering on drug and alcohol addiction. More than anything she loved her family and playing with her grandkids. Janice will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family will have a private burial at Dayton National Cemetery at a later date.
