Vivian Vera Compton (Porter), age 96, passed away at her home on August 28, 2017. She was born October 9, 1920 in Columbus, OH to Theresa and Anthony Porter (deceased).

She lived in Columbus her entire life and was a graduate of West High School. She married the love of her life, John Paul Compton. She was preceded in death by her husband and her son, Ronald Compton, also siblings, Hilda, Rosemary, Albertine, Irvin, George and Charles. Surviving family includes son, David (Delores) Compton and daughter, Rita Compton and her "Little Sis" Gene Nelson. Other survivors include many grandchildren with a special close relationship with David (Kristine) Wickes and Brad Wickes.

She also had a number of great-grandchildren and had a lot of love for Alyssa and Andrew Wickes. There are a number of nieces and nephews and was especially close to Debbie (Dick) Garling, Carol (Len) Ritchard, and Shirley Klump. If there is a giant kitchen in heaven than mother is already baking muffins and pies.

Memorial service will take place on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Cemetery Chapel, 6959 W. Broad St., Galloway, OH 43119.

Reception to follow service at the Compton Residence, 784 Salisbury Rd. at 4:00PM
