James A Lawless 7/7/1937 - 10/7/2017, passed away into the arms of our Lord. With great love, comes great loss.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Arland and Beatrice Lawless; brother and sister-in-law Bill and Joanne Lawless; Sister, Marjorie Wickliff, brothers -in-law, Gilbert and Fred Hawes and golfing/billiards buddy, Larry Gulick. He is survived by Betty, his wife of 57 years, sons, Jeffrey (Marion) Lawless, Joseph (Laura) Lawless; and daughter Jean (Paul) Price. Grandchildren - Connie and Andrew Price; Katherine, Megan, James and Jenna Lawless; brother-in-law Leigh Wickliff, sisters-in-law, Virginia Kearns and Carla Long and many devoted nieces, nephews and friends.

Jim’s life centered on family and his greatest joys were his grandchildren. He spent hours playing tiddly winks, wiffle ball, basketball and board games and even taught them all to play poker. He was a large part of their lives and was very proud of their accomplishments. Jim was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church and worked for 38 years as a “Telephone Man” for Ohio Bell, AT&T and Lucent. When his children were younger he was a 4-H Advisor and assistant baseball coach. Jim took pride in our country and served in the US Army Reserve, Jackson Township Trustee, Republican Central Committeeman and as an election poll worker. He was an avid Buckeye fan and enjoyed going to Columbus Bluejackets games. After retirement, Jim developed a love of playing golf.

A funeral service will be held at the 1st Presbyterian Church of Grove City at 4227 Broadway, Grove City Ohio on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 11am, where visitation will begin at 9:30 AM until time of service.
