Charles Thomas Flaherty, born October 18, 1926, in the Bronx, NY, passed on October 6, 2017 in Columbus, OH.

Charles is survived by his brother, Richard Flaherty, of Columbus, OH, his niece Deborah (Richard) Probst of Los Altos, CA, and by his nephews, Jerry (Margo), Richard (Adele), Thomas (Jeanne) Flaherty, all of Columbus. He is also survived by many great (and great-great) nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Flaherty, his mother, Grace Bumby Flaherty, his sisters, Dorothy Jones & Patricia Williams, all of Hunterdon County, NJ.

Charles was a veteran of WWII and served in Italy.

Charles retired from Ortho Pharmaceutical Corporation in Raritan, NJ, after more than 40 years of service.

Charles lived in Hunterdon County, NJ until 2013. After Hurricane Sandy, Charles relocated to live with family in Columbus, OH.

His special interests were Classical music, Italian opera, and the Civil War.

He liked being able to say that he shook the hand of a woman who shook the hand of President Abraham Lincoln!

His family will always remember, and will forever miss, his quick wit, his sense of humor, and his love of life.

We are all so sad knowing that our lives will certainly not be as rich, nor as varied, without our beloved brother and uncle by our side.
