James Higgins. age 88, passed away Friday, November 10, 2017 at Kobacker House.

He was born on January 24, 1929 in Gallipolis, Ohio to the late William Higgins and Stella Spanner (Duncan-Higgins).

He also is preceded in death by his two brothers, Maurice and Donald.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Cindy (Vince) Baker and his son, Andy Higgins. He is also survived by his only grandchild, Justice Baker; also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jim was a Boatwains Mate - 3rd Class in the United States Coast Guard from 1946 - 1949. Jim worked for Timken Rolling Bearing for over 15 years and later for the Ohio Farm Bureau working in their warehouse and traveling all over Ohio to the different farm markets. He then retired from the Farm Bureau in 1991.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Ohio Health Hospice and Kobacker House for their loving care during Jim's illness.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 12-1 p.m. at Newcomer Grove City, 3393 Broadway, where funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m.

Interment to follow at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, OH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kobacker House, 800 McConnell Drive, Columbus, OH 43214 or Heinzerling Developmental Center, 1755 Heinzerling Drive, Columbus, OH 43223.
