Robert Daugherty, 81, of Westerville, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017.

Robert was born December 30, 1935 to the late Fletcher and Florence (Booth) Daugherty.

He served in the United States Army 1956-1958. Robert received his PHD at The Ohio State University. He taught at Charleston University, Temple University, Fairmont State College, and was the editor of the Ohio History Journal.

He was married to Sandra for 56 years.

Robert will be deeply missed by his wife; children Patricia (Jeff) Turza, Michael Daugherty; grandchildren David, Jessica, Matthew, Morgan, Jason; great-grandchildren Madison, Braeden, Emmarie, Bentlee; brother Jim (Jeannette) Daugherty; sister Patti Faherty and special family friend Ruth Roese.

Along with his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Michael Faherty.

Memorial services will be at a later date to be announced.

The family would like to thank Kobacker Hospice staff and the Ross Hospital for their kindness and excellent care.
