In Memory Of
Pastor Ted Walters
1945 - 2017

Theodore Augustine Walters Jr., 72, went home to be with the Lord Friday, December 8th, 2017 at Edgewood Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Westerville, Ohio.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Augustine Walters and Mary Catherine Presley as well as his brother, Maurice Wayne Walters. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Judy Lane (Spaulding) Walters; his sisters, Mary Catherine Whitehead and Joyce Anne Thomas; his daughters, Thelma Joy (Robert) May, Catherine Anne (Gregory) Sparks, and Sarah Michelle; his son, Lloyd James Scott; his grandson, Weston Matthew May; and many loved ones and friends.

Born and raised in Pensacola, Florida, he was both a resident there as well as Columbus, Ohio. Although he loved life by the ocean as well as his family and community that resided there, his passion and life calling as a Pastor brought him to Ohio where he met his wife and started a family.

In his early years after graduating High School, Ted was mentored by his father who Pastored a congregation in Pensacola, Florida and then went on to be ordained by The General Council of The Assemblies of God through The Alabama District Council on April 17th, 1973. Soon after being ordained, Ted accepted a preaching engagement in Columbus, Oh where he met and married his wife, Judy, and started attending services at World Harvest Church. From there, he became a member of the staff and was sent to help start a church in Wellston, Oh. Upon completion, he returned back to World Harvest Church where he both preached and taught as a Bible Professor for 15 plus years. Later in his life, he started a Mission downtown Columbus on Parson’s Ave. where he continued to preach the Word of God and help many citizens in the community. He accepted preaching engagements and officiated weddings and funeral until he was unable to do so and retired under the ministry of Pastor Gary Keesee of Faith Life Church.

In the last few years of his life, Ted enjoyed spending his time with his Wife, his daughters and their new families including meeting his first grandchild, whom he loved dearly. He continued to enjoy southern cooking and correspondence with his family in Florida as well as reading his favorite books. His Faith carried him through life up to the end and his family is at peace to know he is in Heaven and will see him again someday.
