It is with great sadness that the family of John T. Burke announces his passing after losing his battle with cancer, on January 17, 2018, at the age of 56 years.

Visitation will be Friday, January 26, 2018 from 3pm to 5pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., Columbus, Ohio. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 5pm with Nick Ray officiating.

John was born in Los Angeles, California and raised in Bay Village, Ohio before settling in Columbus. He was the son of Ambrose Patrick and Suzanne (Hind) Burke.

John graduated from Miami University in 1984 with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Systems Analysis. Throughout John's career he has been employed by Grange Insurance, Simon & Schuster, Scotts Miracle Grow, Chemical Abstracts and for the past 10 years with Cardinal Health as a Systems Engineer.

John loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors such as camping, hiking, cycling and he had a passion for the game of golf. John was a loving pet owner and will be sorely missed by their standard poodles Brock and Lance.

John is survived by his wife of 29 years, Jo Ann, and his children Shawn Burke, Tiffany Lester (Burke) and her husband Chad and their three children Madi, Joey, and Ellie (to be born in April). He is also survived by his mother Suzanne Burke and two brothers: Tim (Barbara) Burke and Chris (Cindy) Burke, sister-n-law June Anne Burke as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his father, Ambrose Patrick Burke and brother David Burke.
