Marjorie A Thacker (Marty) passed away peacefully at Riverside Methodist Hospice on June 9, 2018 following a 2 year battle with cancer. She was born Feb 9, 1950 in Lancaster, OH to Lois & Don Thacker who proceeded her in death. Marty was a graduate of St. Aloysius academy in New Lexington, 1968. She was also a graduate of NTID in Rochester, NY and Gallaudet college in Washington D.C. She worked at DFAS in Columbus for 26 years until she retire December of 2017. She has been a long time member of NTID alumni, chapter of Ohio, Deaf Women of Ohio, and several other deaf organizations of Ohio. She is survived by a sister, Anne Wernick of Alpharetta, GA. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews, Michelle Shadburn, Lisa Nierenberg, Jason Wernick, Jeff Wernick. Also surviving are 7 grand nieces and nephews plus many friends.

Memorial services will be held June 19th at 10 a.m. at Church of Resurrection in New Albany, OH with private burial at the New Lexington Cemetery following church services.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, Deaf Society of Central Ohio, or charity of choice.
