In Memory Of
Stephanie D. Marcum
1967 - 2018
Visitation will be held Monday, July 9, 2018 from 1:30pm until the time of Funeral Service at 2pm at Newcomer, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123, Grove City, Ohio 43123.
Stephanie was born on August 29, 1967 to Steve and Mary Marcum (Favorite) in Huntington, West Virginia. As a child, she loved animals of every kind. She graduated from Boyd County High School, and Marshall University in 1990 with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts. She also earned a Project Management Professional certification in 2011.
Stephanie was proud of her decades-long work in graphic design for the Columbus Dispatch; her work at OEC, Inc; and her experience as a project manager. After her ALS diagnosis, she went on two “bucket list” trips: first taking a road trip to the beaches of South Carolina with her sister, Eve; and then going to the Pacific Northwest to see her brother, Joe, where she got to hike on Mt. Rainier.
Stephanie’s interests included kayaking, hiking, fishing, gardening, photography, and painting. She loved to grill in her beautiful backyard, hanging out her family and her beloved pet beagle, Sam. Stephanie had a spunky sense of humor and an infectious laugh. She battled her ALS with courage and grace.
Stephanie is survived by her father, Steve Marcum; her mother, Mary Marcum; her sister, Eve Atkinson-Marcum; her brother, Joe Marcum; her brother-in-law, Jim Atkinson; her "little sister" (sister-in-law), Corrie Hausman; and many cousins and other family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made in memory of Stephanie Marcum to The ALS Association Central & Southern Ohio Chapter, 1170 Old Henderson Road, Suite 221, Columbus, Ohio 43220.
