George VanGundy, 72, of Columbus, OH, passed away July 4, 2012. He was born in Chillicothe, OH on March 28, 1940.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Eudora (Cooper) VanGundy, sisters, Opal Maughmer, Leila Henderson, Mary Jarrells, infant brother, Willis VanGundy. He is survived by wife, Ruth VanGundy, children, Rick (Leeann) VanGundy, Michael (Kim) VanGundy, Mike (Diane) Locke, Kathy (Dave) Humphrey, Craig Locke, Gary (Cindy) Locke, sisters, Carolyn (Jim) Rumfield, Ann Eiring, brothers, John (Darlene) VanGundy, Rodney (Debbie) VanGundy, Roger (Jackie) VanGundy, 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm, Monday, July 9, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home and Crematory, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am, Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Walnut Hills Cemetery.
