Fred Lubke, 64, of Columbus, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, February 27, 2015. He was born on April 23, 1950, in Clovis, New Mexico, to Herbert and Oleta Lubke.
Fred retired from Thermal Industries, after 20 years of service. He was an avid reader and enjoyed pecan pie and a good batch of guacamole. Fred had a great love for his family. He enjoyed watching his son play basketball and his daughter play soccer. Fred had a unique sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Herbert Lubke. Fred is survived by his loving wife, Judy Lubke, to whom he married on April 1, 1979; his children, Charles Ryan Lubke and Lisa Marie Lubke; mother, Oleta Lubke; two brothers, Kim (Debbie) Lubke and Glenn (Pamela) Lubke; niece, Nicole (Neal) Lucas; nephews, Nicholas Lubke, Brandon Lubke, and Grant Lubke; and great-niece, Alexa Lucas.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 5, 2015 from 6-8pm in Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., Columbus, OH 43231. Pastor Rick Thomas will conclude the gathering with a prayer at 7:45pm. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5555 Frantz Rd., Dublin, OH 43017.
