Donald W. Bolin, 89, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2015 in Columbus, OH. Donald was born on January 1, 1926 in New Boston, OH to Bernard and Oniska Minah Bolin.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 54 years, Christina Smith-Bolin; three half-brothers, Lowell Morris, Michael "Mike" Morris, and Charles Bolin; and two half-sisters, Lucy Bolin-Brown and Beulah Bolin-Preston.
He is survived by his sister, Betty Lou Sexton (Donald); numerous nieces and nephews with special nephew, Ty Morris; and special friends, Deborah Ferruccio, Betsy Smith, and Nita Poulson.

Donald was a Sergeant in WWII. He later became an English teacher at Columbus Public Schools. He taught at Linden-McKinley High School and completed his career at Clinton Junior High. He loved to write poetry as a hobby, and had numerous writings published. Donald was a member of the Free Masons, Linden Lodge No. 637 and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 2, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH 43231. A Chapel Service will be held on Friday, July 3, 2015 at 12:00pm at Memorial Burial Park, 10556 Gallia Pike Wheelersburg, OH 45694. The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to The Terrace at Friendship Village of Columbus for their wonderful care.
