Dola Marie Shafer, beloved mother of Karen (Marion) Bump and Terry Matzner. She was preceded in death by husbands Wilce Matzner and Ray Shafer, parents, Ray and Minnie Driskill, brothers Harry (Edith) Driskill, Leonard (Martha) Driscoll, William Driskill, sister Grace Stevens.

She is survived by her children Karen and Terry and many nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She passed away on July 3, 2015 at the age of 88. Dola's life was like something out of a Hollywood movie. She was born on September 11, 1926 in South Charleston, OH. Her mother Minnie died giving birth. Her father Ray gave her up for adoption to friends from Kearney, NE. Somehow Dola wound up living on an Indian reservation.

As an adult she met her first husband Wilce who eventually died. In 1962 she was contacted by her father Ray and oldest brother Harry. She didn't know that she had a family. She and her kids moved to Urbana, OH to be near Harry. Many years later she relocated to Columbus, OH to be near her other brother Leonard. While in Columbus, she met her second husband, Ray.

Dola was an avid sports fan and loved dogs. She cremated her last dog Bridget who will be buried with her per Dola's wishes. Special thanks to niece Lynnet (Jeff) Keller for everything she has done and to Columbus Rehab Center for treating Dola like family.

Visitation will be held from 11am to 1pm, Monday, July 13, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home and Crematory, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH, where a funeral service will be held at 1pm.
