Upon graduating from high school, she moved to Dayton where she worked a year at National Cash Register, aiding in the war industry. When World War II ended, she returned to Mt. Sterling and met and married Charles Keeling, a former captain in the United States Army (1940-1946). They settled in Columbus and had three children: daughter, Carolyn (Tom) Davis, son, John (Karen) Keeling, and her younger son, Rick, who was her special care giver in the last years of her life.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Charles Keeling; brother, William McFarland; her beloved sister-in-law, Evelyn Day; and brother-in-law, Herbert Day.
She is survived by her precious sister, Rose (Raymond) Kennedy; her grandchildren, Loraine Ann (Brian) Swank, Jason and Jared Keeling; her great-grandchildren, Danielle and Aric Merola; and very special nephews and nieces, all of whom she loved dearly.
