Richard Franklin Alt, 80, was born in Flintstone, Maryland, September 12, 1937, to Frank and Irene Alt, and died at home on August 8, 2018.

He is survived by his wife Marti, with whom he shared 45 years of love and life; sisters Janice (Bill) Harmon, Painesville, Ohio, and Margie Maxwell, Worthington, Ohio; children Stratton (Emily) Alt, Columbus, Ohio; LeAnne (Mike) Ash, Tampa, Florida; and Leslie Alt, Galena, Ohio. He so enjoyed being with his grandsons Elijah Alt; Karston and Bryden Ash; and Silas, Samuel, and Shiloh Alt.

His parents preceded him in death.

He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and loving friends.

He graduated from Riverside High School, Painesville, Ohio, and Kent State University. He founded The Alt Company, Realtors in 1971 and was a long-time, active member of Grace Polaris Church, Westerville, where he met his bride. He loved serving the Lord and others. One of his favorite sayings was “Only one life will soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last,” and his favorite verse was Philippians 4:13.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 11, 2018, from 4pm to 6pm at Newcomer NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., Columbus, and Sunday, August 12, 2018, from 2pm to 3:45pm at Grace Polaris Church, 8225 Worthington-Galena Road, Westerville.

Funeral services will follow at 4pm. Private burial will be at Blendon Central Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Health Hospice, Grace Polaris Church, or Worthington Christian Schools.
