Rev. Doris Jean Shover (89) passed away, Tuesday, August 21 in Columbus.

Doris was born in Jackson Township of Franklin County, Ohio on August 25, 1928 to H. Glenn and Mable (Milligan) Shover.

The oldest of nine children, she was preceded in death by two sisters; Dorothy Shover and Carol Paese, and a brother, Dean.

She is survived by brothers Paul, Don, Neal, Dick and Joe Shover, and many nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Asbury College, Doris went on to receive a master’s degree in Religious Education from Scarritt College. Before becoming a United Methodist minister, she worked for several years as a director of Christian education in Columbus. Over the years she served the United Methodist Church as pastor at Hyatts, Hoytville, Raymond, St. Paris, Briggsdale, Jackson Chapel and Warrensburg in Ohio.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 11am to 12pm at Newcomer NE Chapel 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus.

Funeral services will follow at 12pm at Newcomer NE Chapel.

Burial will be at Concord Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wycliffe Bible Translators 11221 John Wycliffe Blvd, Orlando, FL 32832 or Meals on Wheels 2450, 670 Harmon Ave, Columbus, OH 43223.
