Willa Dean Brooks, 86, passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 in Columbus, OH. Willa was born on February 1, 1932 in Paintsville, KY to the late Arthur and Martha (Hall) Branham.

In addition to her parents, Willa is preceded in death by her husband, James Brooks; three brothers; four sisters and son-in-law, Jerry "Maddog" Madden.

She is survived by her daughters, Charlene Terry and Terri Madden; grandchildren, Rob Buck and his wife Sarah, Lindsay Buck, Brooks, Jessica and Angelica Tipple, Joshua Madden; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Amy Batts, Katelynn Tipple; many friends and 'adopted' children and grandchildren.

Willa's greatest joy was taking care of children and the elderly as a Visiting Angel. She liked to travel with her friends. She loved Elvis, gardening and was an avid reader. Willa was a feisty and stubborn woman, but she also very giving and generous.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, October 14, 2018 from 4pm to 6pm at Newcomer NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd, Columbus, OH 43231. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 11am also at the funeral home with a visitation one hour prior. She will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery, Columbus, OH.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Willa's honor to Kobacker House Hospice, 800 McConnell Dr., Columbus, OH 43214.
