Ronald E. Hord Sr., 86, passed away in his sleep on Saturday, November 10, 2018.

He was born February 5, 1932 in Columbus, son of the late Mary Louise and Robert Hord.

Ron graduated from St. Charles Preparatory School and then went to Notre Dame but graduated from The Ohio State University.

He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

Ron retired from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Katie Hord.

Ron is survived by his daughters, Susan Hord (Ed Grennan), Mary Lou (John) Murray and Brenda Hord; sons, Ron (Lynne) Hord and Greg (Joyce) Hord; grandchildren, Josh (Nikki) Murray, Ben (Kathleen) Murray, Kaity Hord (Anthony Pizzutti), Zachary Grennan, Johnathan Hord and Sydney Hord; great grandchildren, Noah Murray, Quinn Murray and Elliott Murray.

Our Dad loved Baseball, especially his beloved New York Yankees and playing poker with his good friends.

He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to have known him, especially his poker buddies as well as Mike, Bill and Frank.

Memorial service will be Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 10:30 AM at the chapel in Resurrection Cemetery, 9571 N. High St. Lewis Center, with visitation half an hour prior to services.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Charles Preparatory School at miduffy@cdeducation.org
