1942 - 2019

Roger Allan Snyder, age 76 passed away peacefully at home January 6th following a brief illness surrounded by his loving family.

Roger is the son of Wanda Conkle Feller (Clinton) and William Snyder. He graduated Findlay High School in 1960 and is a graduate of Franklin University (Columbus, Ohio) in the class of 1967. Roger served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1964.

Roger is preceded in death by his Mother, Step Mother, Father, Step Father and brother William Snyder.

Roger is survived by his wife of 39 years Brenda (Harr) Snyder, his children Gordon (Cathy) Snyder; Douglas (Jill) Snyder; Jennifer Snyder Sorg (Ross Kincaid); and Jamie (Jim) Snyder Thompson. Roger is also survived by four grandchildren Chad (Brianna) Thompson; Bradley (Kellie Gaver) Thompson; Emma (Ben Hardy) Sorg; and Kate Sorg. Roger’s five great-grandchildren are Emma, Lily, and Claire Thompson and Baya and Remington Thompson. Roger is also survived by his brother Terry (Karen Solman) Feller; half-sisters Melissa (Glenn) Robey and Lori Snyder and step-sisters Myra Tomey and Sue (Joe) Newland along with multiple in-laws, nieces, nephews, and many, many wonderful friends.

Roger worked in the insurance industry from 1967 to his retirement. In 1972 he opened an independent insurance agency, The Roger A. Snyder Insurance Agency, Inc. in Upper Arlington, OH. His son Doug joined as partner in 1985. He is a member of the First Unitarian Universalist Church in Clintonville, OH.

Roger enjoyed his garden, fish pond, and traveling with Brenda as well as spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; all the loves of his life. He was an avid boater and fisherman especially on Lake Erie where he and Brenda spent their summers in Marblehead, OH.

A celebration of life service will be held at the First Unitarian Universalist Church, 93 W Weisheimer Rd, Columbus, OH 43214 on February 16th at 1:00 PM.
