David Featherstone, age 48, passed away suddenly on Sunday, December 30, 2018. He was born on September 6, 1970, in Columbus, Ohio to Ivy and Rose (Brown) Featherstone. He is preceded in death by his father, Ivy (Sooner) Featherstone and his uncle, Walter Lee Van Brown, Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Mercadez (Leandra) Featherstone; grandchildren, Brooklynn and Quan; mother, Rose (Brown) Featherstone; siblings, Dennis Featherstone, Debrah (Earl) Hughes, Delia (Shawn) Hoch; life-long play cousins, Allen Brown, Jr., Candy Brown, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

David worked at Amazon and served as Vice President of the Cumberland Ridge Civic Association. As a free spirit, David lived his life on his own terms. His sense of humor and his bold honesty was simply infectious and touched the heart and soul of anyone who was privileged enough to know and love him. He will be deeply missed and leaves an emptiness that only his ray of light that he illuminated each day could fill.

Take comfort to know that he will live on in our many wonderful memories of him and to know he is not alone as he joins his father, Ivy (Sooner) Featherstone and one of his favorite uncles, Walter Lee Van Brown, Jr.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 2, 2019, from 2pm to 4pm at Newcomer NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., Columbus, OH 43231. A memorial service will begin at 4pm also at Newcomer NE Chapel.
