In Memory Of
Julia A. Brofford
1938 - 2020

Julia Ann Brofford was born in Jackson, Ohio, on September 9, 1938, the eldest daughter of Merle and Amy (Schenck) Ellenberger. Julia (or Julie) grew up in Jackson and graduated from Jackson High School. She continued her education and attended nursing school at Mt. Carmel School of Nursing where she became an R.N. After completing her nursing degree, she married Clive Brofford of Columbus, Ohio. Julie was an amazing nurse who worked in many aspects of the field for 50 years. Always desiring to help others, it is clear she had chosen the right profession. Her joy in working revolved around providing comfort and care to her patients.

There were two bedrocks to Julie’s life; her unshakeable faith in Jesus Christ, and her overwhelming love for her family; her husband of 60 years, Clive Brofford, and her children and grandchildren. Julie and Clive shared nearly every aspect of their lives together; visiting children and grandchildren, going on Caribbean cruises, going out to eat, and daily early morning Bible study. Julie’s children have largely become the people they are today, because of her. She modeled love and compassion and instilled in them the moral compass and character that made her so proud to be their mother.

Julie was preceded in death by her parents, her infant son, Eric Clive, and her Father and Mother-in-law Alfred and Ruth Brofford. Surviving, and missing her greatly, are her husband Clive Brofford, children Kevin (Susan) Brofford of New Milford, CT, Colleen (Dave) Pataky of Munith, MI, and Amynda Brofford (Brian Linsey) of Las Vegas, NV, sister Lynda Kurtz of Kansas City, MO, brother Johnny (Denise) Ellenberger of Jackson, OH, and grandchildren Kelsey, Claire, & Evan Brofford and Julianne, Michelle, Nicole and Daniel Pataky. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services for Julia Ann Brofford are under the direction of the Newcomer Funeral Home in Grove City, Ohio. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, January 23rd, and one hour prior to the service at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 24th. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, Ohio.
