James W. Pierson Sr., age 83, passed away at home surrounded by his family on February 1, 2021. He was born on June 21, 1937 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Walter and Catherine Pierson. James is a proud U.S. Marine Veteran.

He is preceded by his wife, Dorothy Pierson, who passed in 1970. James is also preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his children: Vicky (Sherman) Carter, James (Stephanie) Pierson Jr., Ty (April) Pierson, Christina (Chuck) Franklin, Rick (Paula) Derouaux, and Alfonse Derouaux; grandchildren: James Eric Pierson, Mike (Melinda) Madden, Danielle (Beau) Garwood, Elena (Mark) Greene, Jacob Pierson, Tyler Carter, and Lane Franklin; great-grandchildren: Faith, Skyler, Ayden, Rylie, Jaxson, Hannah, Savannah, and MaKayla. Also surviving is sister, Mary Ann Harper; and former spouse and long time companion, Saundra "Sas" Pierson. James is also survived by his furry companion, Nikki; along with many family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2021 from 3-6 PM at Newcomer Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123. Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11 AM, interment to follow at Green Lawn Cemetery.
