In Memory Of
James Darrell Vogel III
1991 - 2021

James Darrell Joseph John Vogel III (Jimmy), 29, of Columbus, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday February 18, 2021. He was born in Atlanta, GA, to James and Joy Vogel on April 17, 1991.

Jimmy graduated from Dublin Scioto High School in 2010. He was baptized at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Atlanta and grew up an active member of Linworth United Methodist Church.

Jimmy loved his family, being the oldest of four brothers and sister. He was incredibly supportive and proud of the young men and woman his siblings had become. He was a huge fan of the local sports teams, most especially the Blue Jackets, Crew, Bengals, Reds, and of course The Ohio State University Buckeyes. Jimmy was a huge fan of live music, the genre did not matter. He was most happy hanging with his extended group of friends and large family. He never met anyone without a smile and had a huge heart to those close to him. Jimmy worked extensively in the food business, most recently at Swenson’s where he was about to become assistant general manager. He had a ton of friends from working at Moretti’s, Winking Lizard, Revelry Tavern and others.

Jimmy was predeceased by his maternal grandmother Mary Gorham. He is survived by his parents, Jim and Joy Vogel, brother Christopher (Kelly) Vogel, brother Matthew Vogel, brother Joshua Vogel and sister Alexandra Vogel. He is also survived by his maternal grandfather, Jimmie Gorham of McDonough GA; paternal grandparents James and Jeannine Vogel of Columbus. He is also survived by his Aunt Terri (Mike) O’Quinn of McDonough, GA, Uncle Jim (Maria) Gorham of Portland OR, Uncle David (Cheryl) Gorham of San Antonio TX, Aunt Shelly (Jeff) Efird of Duluth GA, Uncle Peter Vogel, and Uncle Andrew (Estera) Vogel. He is survived by cousin Jessica (Mark) Ashby of Greenville SC, cousin Andrew (Kayla) O’Quinn of Savannah, GA, cousin Lindsay Gorham of Orlando, FL, cousin Dr. Jessica Efird of Austin TX, cousin Nicholas Efird of Atlanta GA, cousin Rafael Vogel and cousin Talia Vogel.
