In Memory Of
Robert S. "Bob" Takacs
1948 - 2021

Robert S. Takacs, of Westerville, went to be with the Lord on the evening of February 27, 2021. Preceded in death by and now reunited with his parents Robert and Louise Takacs and niece Kristen Lee. "Bob" was born in Warren, Ohio but lived in Ashtabula until age 13.

He loved to play Little League Baseball on the ball field of Deming Elementary School. When the family moved to Westerville in 1962 Bob brought with him his love for baseball. He came to love many Ohio sports. He faithfully followed The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, and Cleveland Indians.

Bob loved The Beatles, Elvis Presley, and The Eagles. He loved laughing, telling jokes and family. Bob spent many years in Erie, PA where he is survived by his son Robert Takacs; daughter, Amy Takacs and his sweet and beautiful granddaughter, Laeleonna. Bob and his son shared a love for Ohio sports and he and his daughter shared love and pride in Laeleonna. Bob loved helping others, sharing laughs and promoting smiles.

He proudly rang the Red Kettle Bell for The Salvation Army for many years. More recently Bob could be found spending quality time with his fiance, Mary Smith, who survives him. He loved buying gifts for Mary to make her feel special.

Bob never met a stranger; and was known to zip around Westerville on his electric scooter. He loved all his friends and employees at the Westerville Walmart, Huntington Bank and Sugar Grove Square Apartments.

Throughout Bob's life he built model cars and loved admiring classic hot rods with his brother Mark at car shows. Bob will be very missed by siblings, Teri (Gary) Minshall, Sandy (Steve) Lee, Mike (Nora) Takacs, Mark (Shawna Smith) Takacs as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

You can bet Bob will now be in attendance at every Ohio State, Cleveland Browns, and Cleveland Indians game as well as Night of Thunder watching with those beautiful baby blue eyes. Fly high big brother and enjoy your new life with no limitations.

In lieu of flowers please make a blood donation to the American Red Cross or a donation to your local Salvation Army in Bob's memory.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 6th, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm with a Funeral Service immediately following all at Newcomer Funeral Home - NW, 10051 Brewster Lane, Powell, Ohio 43065.
