In Memory Of
Everett Kirk
1940 - 2021

Everett Kirk, age 80, loving husband, father, brother and grandpa, of Columbus, passed away suddenly on April 10, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 9, 1940 to Floyd and Myrtle Kirk in Big Sandy, West Virginia. He received his GED and attended Columbus State Community College in a Business program. Everett served in the Coast Guard and retired disability from the U.S. Army. He also retired from DCSC as a Supervisor. During his retired life he enjoyed having yard sales. LOTS of them! If you had junk Everett was the man to call to get rid of it. He also enjoyed when he subbed as a Custodian for South-Western City Schools. He always had a passion for children and loved to be around them. This lead him to volunteer for many years at the Ohio Apostolic Campgrounds where all of the kids called him Sarge. He was a member of DAV and loved going to church on Sundays to The Victory Pentecostals Church in Mt. Sterling.

He married his loving wife Peggy Ann Rakes on May 30, 1970. They were blessed to celebrate 50 wonderful years together. He was a loving and caring husband. He was also a loving father to four children, Irene Carey (Rick), Everett Preston Kirk (Annisa), Angel Walls (Fred) and Kim Ward (Jeff).

He loved being a Grandpa to his grand kids Hunter, Hannah, Eli, Austin, Sarah, Joshua, Brittany, Dawn, Cody, Heather, Jessica, Danielle, Shannon, Kaylean and Samantha.

He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Myrtle Kirk, his brothers, Bill Wininger, Bobby Wininger, James Wininger, and Junior Kirk. Sisters, Stella (Wininger) Fisher, Shirley (Wininger) Mounts, Dessirea (Kirk) King, Marie (Kirk) Klingsmith and Granddaughter Danielle Rose.

Everett is survived by his loving wife Peggy of 50 years, four kids, Everett, Irene, Angel and Kim. Six Siblings Jimmy Kirk, Brenda Abbott, Hazel Estepp (Roger), Julie Devault(Ralph), Linda Fowler(Lawrence) and Cathy Porter (Jay). He was a Grandpa to 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Cassie Hutchin whom he loved as his own daughter. Also, his partner in crime, project helper, best friend and brother Don(Ann) Craig. Their friendship was one of the best relationships and Everett loved Don like a brother.

Visitation Monday, April 19, 2021 from 5-8pm at The Victory Pentecostals Church, 15770 US Route 62, Mount Sterling, OH 43143. Funeral Service Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 11am, also at the church. Interment to follow at Field of Honor Cemetery, Canal Winchester, Ohio.
