Nancy Vanhoose
1945 - 2021

Nancy Lee Vanhoose, Age 76, of Canal Winchester, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 15th, 2021. Nancy was born January 22, 1945 to Charles Thomas and Ruth (Babbert) Messer. Nancy and her husband Al were longtime faithful and active members of Friends Worship Center on Clime Rd. then after Al’s passing, Nancy became a faithful and active member of Greater Columbus Church on Briggs Rd. until her death. Nancy spent more than 20 years taking care of those who couldn’t care for themselves working as a caregiver for Catholic Social Services of Columbus. Anyone who knows Nancy, knows how much she loved to sing and dance. Music wasn’t something she just listened to it was in her soul, her favorite was Elvis Presley! In her last days as she was dying from Alzheimer’s disease, you could always find her dancing as soon as the music would start. She had a beautiful singing voice and loved to sing for the Lord, she sang acapella and did it so effortlessly. She also loved spending time with her family and many close, lifelong friends.

Nancy was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Albert, her ex-husband and father of her children Howard Jr., her daughter Tabatha, her brother Charles and sister Madge.

Nancy was survived by her 3 children Howard (Cherie) Cameron, Sarah (Michael) Herron, Edna (Robert) Mitchell, son in law to be Dan Burdick and her husband Earl; sisters and brothers, Lucille, Ruthann, Lorenia, Raymond, and Lee.. Nancy has 15 grandkids Nathan, Ashley, Greg, James, Kristin, Justin, Kala, Breanna, Mckenzie, Harrison, Moriah, Savon, Alexia, Raygan, and Howard IV. She also has 11 great grandkids La’Davion, Keyniah, Sa’Kaiya, Jesse, Jayden, Kamari, Charles, Dae’Leiontae, Braxtin, Leslie, and Beckett.

Nancy loved going to church and it broke her heart when she could no longer attend. She loved to pray with people and firmly believed that if someone asked her to pray for them that she did it right then on the spot. Now she no longer has to suffer and is finally resting peacefully with the Lord.

Visitation Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 1pm until the time of Funeral Service at 3pm at Friends Worship Center, 3030 Clime Rd., Columbus, OH 43223. There is ramp access to the church. Interment Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 11am at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, Ohio.
