In Memory Of
Brad Scott Robinson
1969 - 2021

Brad Scott Robinson passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021. He is survived by his former wife Justina Phiri and the two children he helped raise - Meiswa and Doreen. Also survived by his mother and father, Margaret and Don Robinson, his sister Lori Vasquez (husband Moses) as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Brad graduated from Claremont High School in New Hampshire, Oklahoma Christian College with a degree in teaching, and received a Master's Degree in Management while working in Togo, Africa. Brad was a man who loved adventure and traveling. He spent most of adult life working and traveling all around the world teaching elementary grades 4, 5 and 6 in different countries. He also worked with computers at the various schools updating websites and teaching new programs. He was proud of his extracurricular activities with the kids, often heading up the student counsel and being the girls' volleyball coach while in Bangladesh, teaching swimming and other sports. While in Malaysia he also taught at an ESL school as a second job.

His teaching started in Oklahoma then progressed to Kuwait, Moscow, Bangladesh, Zambia, Brazil, Togo, Malaysia, Vietnam and Paraguay. On summer breaks he would visit surrounding countries like Europe, Iceland, the Arctic Circle, and doing a walking tour up through Africa stopping at all animal reserves along the way. Thailand was a country he loved to visit as often as he could. Brad loved scuba diving, fishing, golf, and rock climbing and trying new things. No matter where he was living he always managed to find a cat or two or three to live with him.

Probably his favorite country was Zambia where he stayed the longest - 4 years. It was there he met and married his beautiful Zambian wife Justina who was also teaching at his school. She had a daughter Doreen already and they later adopted her nephew, Meiswa who had been orphaned. While continuing to teach they opened a restaurant and then an open air bar complete with thatched roof and TV. This became a very popular place with people staying at the nearby hotels as well as the locals who all loved to come to eat, drink, socialize and watch soccer on the TV.

Brad and his stories will be missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held for Brad on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Sharon Woods Church, 5959 Sharon Woods Blvd, Columbus, OH 43229. The family will receive visitors from 10-11 am, with the service at 11am.
