She was born January 28, 1930 in Columbus, daughter of the late Harry and Helen Purcell Taylor.
In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Bender; sisters, Audrey Smoot and Martha Woollum.
She graduated from Central High School.
Norma then pursued a career in multiple departments at Lazarus, was an administrator at Net Care, finally after a few years she retired from Highlights for Children where then she enjoyed multiple campfire adventures at Wyandot and Deer Creek.
Norma is survived by her daughter, Denise McCluney; son, Dennis Bender; grandchildren, Megan (Josh) Kerr, Matthew Bender, Marissa McCluney and Christopher McCluney; great granddaughter, Ivy Sue Ann Kerr; brother, Tom (Noreen) Taylor.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Ohio Health Hospice and Flora Pollock.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church.
Memorial service will be Sunday, July 12, 2015 at 1:30 PM at Central College Presbyterian Church, 975 S. Sunbury Rd. Westerville, with visitation to follow.
