A devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, she will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Born in Wheelersburg, Ohio, she was the youngest child of Bess (Parsley) Wilson and Robert Lee Wilson.
She was the “littlest” cheerleader in middle school and graduated from Portsmouth East High School, where she was a drum majorette.
Jo worked for Kroger’s as a comptometer operator.
Jo was a member of the Gillie 50+ Recreation Center for many years.
She devoted her time to her children and served as the bookkeeper for Riverside Bible Church’s preschool.
She was a member of the Dudes and Dolls Square Dance Club, The Alllemanders and The Wednesday Afternoon Dancers.
Jo was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 60 years, Jack J. Clayton.
Jo is survived by her daughter; LuAnn (Tracy) Molter, sons, Randy (Linda) Clayton and Matthew (Christina) Clayton; grandchildren, Andrew (Laura) Molter, Alicia (John) Grossman, Austin Molter (Stef Alamo), Mattison Clayton and step great-grandchildren Victor (Sandy) Ciccolello, Lisa (Dan) Stollar and Chelsey Arthur; great-grandchildren Annabelle Molter and Josie Grossman; six step great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by her sisters, Helen (Hane) Matheny and Irene (June) Brown.
Family will receive friends from 5-8pm on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd, Columbus OH 43231.
Jo and Jack were nearly 50 year adherents of Riverside Bible Church, 5330 Olentangy River Rd, Columbus OH 43235, where a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, July 28th with David Crawford Officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Riverside Bible Church in Jo’s memory.
