Larry K. Newman, 69, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. Larry was born in KY on February 1, 1948, to Harold and Laura (Bishop) Newman and is preceded in death by his parents and son, Mark Newman.
He is survived by his wife and life-long friend, Linda (Tilley) Newman; children, Matthew (Kimberly) Newman, Kathy (Kenneth) McLaughlin, Jeremy (Tanya) Newman, Joel (April) Newman; brother, Harold “Bud” (Jennifer) Newman; grandchildren, Rebekah, Ashleigh, Hannah, Sarah, Abigail, Danielle, Leah, Eden, Ethan, Elijah, Kyle, Josiah, Malachi, Zachariah; sister-in-law, Joanne (Mike) Glenn; aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Larry served in the US Air Force and was a member of the National Honor Guard in Washington, D.C. He retired after a long career with the State of Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections. Larry graduated from Mifflin High School in 1966 and graduated from Urbana College with a Bachelor’s Degree. He stayed busy during his retirement antiquing with Linda and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Family and friends will gather on Monday, April 17, 2017, 5-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH 43231 with the Funeral on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, 11 AM. Interment will follow at Northlawn Memory Gardens.
