1935 - 2015

George Motil, age 80, passed peacefully on March 28, 2015. He was born in Columbus, OH on Feb. 15, 1935. He graduated from Thomas Aquinas High School ‘54, retired from the Westinghouse Electric Corp, and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

George was preceded in death by his parents John and Mary (Motil) Heffley; foster parents Thomas and Adela Walsh; brothers, Steven Motil, Joseph Motil, John Motil, and Robert Heffley; sisters, Pauline Slayton and Anne Antle .

George is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sue Motil; daughters Teresa Motil and Tammy (Bill) Ireland; son, Timothy (Noreen) Motil; grandchildren Joshua Reed and Erika Rojas, Benjamin Reed, Angela Reed, Roger Ireland, Nicholas Motil, Samantha Ireland; great-grandchildren Trissa Reed, Nathan Jasper, Jayda Reed, Jeremiah Ireland; brother Andrew Motil; sister Barbara (Don) Swonger; and numerous nieces and nephews.

George loved his family. He was a caring, loving, and religious man. The family would like to give a special thanks to Pastor John Meade for his support.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.

Family and friends will be received from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH, where there will also be a rosary service at 7:45 pm. Funeral Service Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 10 am at the Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, OH.
