In Memory Of
Norma "Jean" Scurlock
1928 - 2015

Norma J. “Jean” Scurlock (Hann), born June 14, 1928, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Our loving, beautiful, and devoted Mother joined the ranks of the angels on 9/3/15. After waging a lengthy and heroic battle against a devastating blood disorder, she courageously decided to stop treatment and let God take control. To say she’s the bravest person we know would be an understatement.

She is preceded in death by husband Herman, and the Hann family: Arthur, Elnora, Joe, Esther, and Bobby.

She dedicated her life to caring for her family and home. Family was always first and she was passionate about the care she took with each and every one of us. Her resume may not be long, but her love was deep and she was content.
She was happiest when she was cooking for and spending time with her family, gardening or bowling. She was a long time member of the Homeland Church and the Women’s Auxiliary VFW Post 7941.

She is survived by son Herman (Brenda), daughter Sandi (Jeff) Davis, seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren, brother-in-law Artie (Jan) Scurlock, many friends, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation Tuesday, September 8, 2015 from 5pm until the time of Funeral Service at 7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Burial at Green Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, OH will take place Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 10:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Mount Carmel Hospice, C/O Mount Carmel Foundation, 6150 E. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43213-9924 or your favorite charity.
