Isabel (Issie) Houston Duncan McCoy, 96, of Dublin, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014. She was born in Mt. Carmel Hospital in Columbus on June 16, 1918 and attended Grandview Heights Schools from 1925 until graduation in June of 1937. She attended Western College for Women in Oxford, OH for one year and received a BA degree at Ohio State University in June of 1941.

Over the next 37 years she served in administrative positions for two OSU Presidents, one OSU College Dean, and two OSU Business Managers. She was a lifetime member of First Community Church and a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority.

Issie is preceded in death by her husband, James R. McCoy; parents, Charles H. and Margaret H. Duncan; sister, Nancy Tappan Duncan Hoxworth; and brother, Charles H. Duncan, M.D.

She is survived by stepsons, Peter C. (Cindy) McCoy, Nicholas McCoy, and Michael (Maggie) McCoy; nephews, Duncan (Barbara) Hoxworth of NYC and Benjamin T. (Pam) Hoxworth of Greensboro, NC; nieces, Lee Hoxworth Tuttle of Brevard, NC, Norine Duncan of Pawtucket, RI, and Sarah (Peter) Duncan Finn of NYC; great nieces and nephews and great grandnieces and grandnephews; and her best friends daughter, Abigail (David Goldberger) Harding of Worthington.

Service of Memory will be at 10:30am on Monday, November 24, 2014 at First Community Church, 1320 Cambridge Blvd., Columbus, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to First Community Church or a charity of the donor’s choice. The family extends thanks to the staff of the Health Center of Friendship Village in Dublin for their compassionate care.
