Ruth E. Shepherd
1935 - 2019

Ruth Shepherd, known to friends as "Shep," passed away on May 8, 2019, at the age of 83 years. Ruth was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, daughter of the late Frank Shepherd and Helen Dougherty. Also preceded in death by her sister Eleanor Pestel Underiner and brother Walt Shepherd; Ann’s son Kevin Ingalls.

She was a rare combination of someone who had a love of life and a firm understanding of what was important – the simplicity of living a life with those you love.

Ruth graduated from Central High School, Class of 1953 and retired from JIC. She loved her Scottie dogs that have always been part of her family. She enjoyed Zip Lining and any casino, mostly the ones that she left with winnings. Ruth truly enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

She will be greatly missed by her partner Ann Ingalls who supported her in all her glory during her heyday, and lovingly supported her physically during their last days together; She is also survived by Ann’s grandson Ethan Ingalls: sister in laws Betty Shepherd and Kay Gilliland; and several nieces and nephews: and so many dear friends.

Funeral services will be held at Newcomer Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway Grove City Ohio Monday, May 13, 2019, where family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. funeral service will take place Tuesday May 14th at 12pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Any NO Kill Animal Shelter or Kobacker House 800 McConnell, Columbus, Ohio 43214. Please view our share memories tab to leave a message to the family.
