In Memory Of
Corinne Ferris-Schmitz
1950 - 2021

Corinne C.B. Ferris-Schmitz was born July 22, 1950 and passed away February 16, 2021. Preceded in death by her parents Clarance & Martha Ferris and Brother Zachariah Rundio. She is survived on Earth by her soulmate, Boy Toy, and husband of 24 years Lee W. Schmitz. Those left to cherish fond and precious memories of our beloved Mother and Nana are daughter, Martha W. O'Connor, son-in-law Kevin J. O'Connor and grandchildren, Emily, Logan, Caitlin, and Gavin O'Connor. She also leaves behind sisters Mary Ross, Melvina Adams (Mort), Mildred Cook, brothers Joseph Rundio(Sharlet) and Orson Rundio (Vivian), many beloved nieces & nephews, cousins and many cherished friends.

Connie was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio and Graduated from Central High in 1969. In 1982, unwedded and alone, she made the life changing decision to adopt her daughter, Martha, and invite her into her heart, unconditionally and raise her as her own. In 1996 she married her best friend and soulmate Lee Schmitz, and drove him nuts ever since. She worked very hard and tried her hand at numerous jobs and business opportunities in search of the easier money. Her business adventures were just the start. Everything she did was an adventure and she always took others along. Sometimes, the adventure was just going to the store, but it was an adventure none-the-less. She enjoys the rush of a high jackpot lottery ticket and is quite the Euchre player. In fact, there was a number of games she was fond of. Yahtzee, UNO, Hearts Phase 10, if you name a card or board game and she'd be willing to give them a try. She loves all sorts of different crafts. A collector of MANY things, but a lover of all things M&Ms, crocheting and Harry Potter for sure. She's even tried crocheting Harry Potter figures. She loves bluegrass, country music and old time gospel songs. She has been a person of faith her whole life and has attended a number of churches. Though she made friends at all of those places, she finally found her home at Westgate Baptist and discovered a new extended family. She was surrounded by loved ones, though they were remote. She made sure to pick up the phone and keep in touch. She has sung us her last birthday greeting and now she sings for the Lord Jesus. Connie, Corey, Conn, Nana, Mommy or "Babe", however you knew her, the one thing we all called her was a friend. Goodbye our friend for now, we will miss you greatly until we meet again.

Friends may call at the NEWCOMER SOUTHWEST CHAPEL 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123 on Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 11:00am until time of funeral service at 1:00pm.
