John Alan Rockelman (Johnnie) passed away around March 22, 2021 at the age of 25.

He lived a full life of joy and was a great blessing to others, especially his family. He loved others as God loved him and we are very sorry to see that he left us so soon.

Preceded in death by his nana, Peggy Rockelman, aunt Anne Bashinger, and uncle Dave Haines, he is survived by his parents John and Karmen Rockelman and sister Mary, of Dublin.

Also, he is survived by his grandparents, Alan and Janet Dillion of Charleston, SC, and John S. Rockelman of York, Pa. His surviving aunts and uncles include Cheryl Dillion, Brent and Beth Ann Dillion of Charleston, SC., Renee Haines Rockelman, Steve Rockelman, Ben and Jay Barshinger, Andy and Susan Rockelman Duerr. Kenny and Christina Barshinger of York, Pa. Johnnie also had numerous cousins who were very close to him. There are Anna Kline and Lane Dillion, Christopher, Cameron, Conner Rockelman, Amy, Jake, Jer, Maya, Ali, Malia, Jack and Madison Rockelman Haines, Caleb, Ben, Daniel, and Aaron Barshinger, Avia, Nate, Clara and Micah Duerr. Johnnie was especially close to Caleb and Ali. Johnnie is also survived by many friends, who all had a special, wonderful, and encouraging role in Johnnie’s life, for which we are grateful.

Spencer Richmond, who preceded Johnnie in death, was a very dear and close friend of Johnnie who had helped Johnnie in so many ways.

We would also like to thank the many mentors in Johnnie’s life who took the time to be an encouragement and good example to him. These include Masashi Sugita, Real Bernier, Carl Moeckel, Randall Wood, Wade Berstler, and all who worked with him and spent time with him during his various jobs and life experiences. We cannot thank enough all those who have been a part of Johnnie’s life that contributed to his growth and helped him to understand God’s love for him. We will miss Johnnie dearly.

Visitation will be on April 11 at Newcomer Chapel from 4-6pm in Powell. A memorial service will be held at Dublin Baptist on Coffman Road on April 12 from 10am.
