Dawn was born on July 9, 1966 in Chicago, Illinois to Chester and Geanine Ritchie and raised in Kentucky by her grandparents, Lewis and Bertha Newby.
She is preceded in death by her loving grandparents, father, and sister, Denise Adams.
Dawn is survived by her mother, Geanine Akers; loving husband, Randall Colby; children, Nicole (Kyle) Carpenter, Randall Colby, II, Katalyn Colby; grandchildren, Morgan Graffice, Miley Graffice, Ryder Cahill, Nolen Verbryck, Kinlee Carpenter; sister, Debra Akers; brother, Vadus Kelly; nieces, Tammy (Dustin) Koan, Jessy (Mark) Lay; great-niece, Maddy Koan, and a host of family and friends.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, May 22, 2022 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Columbus Northeast Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43231 with a funeral service immediately following at 5:00 pm also at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Columbus Northeast Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The James Cancer Hospital in Dawn's honor.
