Hannibal A. Davis Jr.
1947 - 2022

Hannibal Anthony Davis Jr., or Junior as he was most commonly known, passed away Wednesday evening, September 14, 2022 at Mount Carmel East from complications during heart surgery. He was 75 years old.

Born in Natchez, Mississippi on February 24, 1947, he was the oldest, beloved son of Hannibal and Henrietta Davis. He attended Ohio State University and then the Columbus Technical Institute, where he received an associate’s degree in air frame and aircraft maintenance. He enlisted in the Air Force and completed two tours in Vietnam. After Vietnam, he continued as active duty Air Force for 4 years and served another 33 years in the Air Force Reserves before retiring as the longest enlisted Chief Master Sergeant in Air Force history.

Hannibal was well known for his loud laugh and his ability to make others smile.

Hannibal is survived by his loving wife Karen, his 6 children: Richard (Danielle) Davis, Nicole (Miguel) Leyva, Chandra Mark, Raqel Brown, Aaron Brown, Hannibal Davis, III; 9 grandchildren: Camille, Owen, Audrea, Alyssia, Sofia, Abigail, Michael, Ayden, Arianna, Hannibal Anthony, IV; brother Lawrence Davis, sisters: Susan Davis and Teresa (Fred) Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his youngest daughter, Angela Davis, his parents, Hannibal Sr. and Henrietta Davis, his brothers William and Michael Davis and his sister-in-law Rebecca Davis.

Hannibal’s visitation will be held at Newcomer North Funeral Home, 3047 E Dublin Grandville Rd, Columbus, Ohio 43231 on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 from 4-7pm.

His funeral service will be held at Church of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, 5225 Refugee RD, Columbus, Ohio 43232 on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 10 a.m.

Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s cemetery, 6440 S High St., Lockbourne, Ohio 43137 immediately following the mass. The

Family request in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or The American Heart Association.
