In Memory Of
Paul W. Maxim
1949 - 2022

Paul W. Maxim, age 73 of Pataskala, OH passed away suddenly on September 20th 2022.

Paul was born on March 14, 1949 to Wilson and Anna Maxim. He grew up in Enon, Ohio where he graduated from Greenon High School and studied Zoology at Ohio State University. After graduation, he worked as a home remodeler, and as his skills developed, this grew into a lifelong career in real estate.

In 1973 he met Janet Williams on a blind date. They quickly fell in love, and eventually married in 1979. Paul and Janet would go on to have seven children between 1980 and 1998, and remain blissfully married for over 43 years, until Paul’s passing.

Paul and Janet moved from Ohio to Maryland in 1980 to start a campus ministry. They went on to become founding members of Cedar Brook Community Church, which now has over 1,500 members.

Paul and Janet were active members of Cedar Brook, where Paul served in the men’s ministry and led small groups. He and his family took the volunteering overseas with Mission trips to Ukraine, Germany, Holland, Croatia, and Mexico - visiting hundreds of towns and cities and helping those in need.

In the 90’s, Paul’s became a Certified Kitchen Designer and worked in that 20 years, where he became a top salesperson at Case Design Remodeling, overseeing hundreds of high-end projects.

In 2013, the family moved to back to Ohio, to be near their lifelong friends, and began attending New Song Community Church.

Since then, he used his own business to facilitate positive change by hiring former criminals and addicts and helping them reform their lives. Paul and his wife also hosted several AU PAIR and foreign exchange students in their home, providing meaningful work, life training and connection.

Paul was a passionate outdoorsman. He loved cycling and taking “century” 100-mile bike rides. He enjoyed hunting and marksmanship, hiking, exploring with his family, running and fitness, and visiting friends all over the country.

He relished eating the Albanian-Greek food he grew up with, his favorites were Burek and Baklava. He was known to family and friends as gregarious, friendly, kind, and living a life dedicated to God.

Paul was predeceased by his parents Wilson and Anna Maxim, and his brother Thomas Forrest. He is survived by his wife Janet, his children Rachel, Abi, David, Jonathan, Justin, Ryan and Lisa, and several grandchildren.

Visitation-Viewing will be held Tuesday September 27 from 5PM to 8PM at Linworth Road Community Church, 5400 Linworth Rd., Columbus, OH.

The memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 28 at 3PM at Linworth Road Community Church.
