He was born in Sedalia, MO, on February 9th, 1955 to Freddie L Shackles II and Ruby McCoy (Rogers).
Preceded in death by both his parents, his step-father Jim McCoy, his brothers Harold and David Shackles and his sister Regina Radabaugh.
Survived by his brothers: Freddie L Shackles III, Ricky Shackles; sisters: Linda Darnell, Jewel (Sam) Kimmerly, and Trica (Rick) Adair; Wife: Barbara Pottmeyer; children: Tracy Fairchild, Terri Mahoney, Michael Pottmeyer, Tiffany Shackles, and Ashley (Joe) Scott; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
As a Master Certified Automotive Technician, he spent the majority of his career specializing in transmission repairs on Chrysler vehicles in Columbus. In his spare time, his hobbies included enjoying anything revolving around muscle cars, tinkering in the garage, and fixing anything and everything.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 4th at 2pm, with a visiting hour beginning at 1pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Northeast Chapel Columbus 3047 E Dublin Granville Rd, Columbus, OH 43231
