Ray Pando Brew Life story video
Ray Pando Brew was born in Columbus, Ohio on August 15th, 1979 to Mr. Ebenezer P. Brew and Mrs. Victoria C. Mould Brew. He attended Columbus City Schools for elementary & Westerville City Schools for middle and high school. He graduated from Westerville South High School in 1997. Some of the activities that he was involved with during his primary and secondary education included swimming (a constant summertime activity), video games, football (which was short lived because he didn’t like getting hit), marching and concert band (he followed in his sister’s footsteps and played the saxophone), and visual art. He was a very talented drawer. He also had an extensive comic book collection that he accumulated during this time, preferring Marvel to DC Comics.

Pando attended Columbus State Community College after high school and received an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration. After graduating, Pando began a long career in the restaurant industry which included serving, bartending, and management. He was well loved by all he came in contact with and made hundreds of connections with a diverse number of people throughout his career. He was skilled at planning events, coordinating and decorating everything from parties to fundraisers at the establishments that he worked at, which he did quite often. Pando embodied selfless service to others at all times.

Pando had several hobbies. He was an excellent cook and decorator, like his mother and daughter. He loved to visit second hand stores to find unique pieces to decorate his and his family members’ homes with. He loved all things sports, like his father, especially football, with his favorite teams consisting of The Ohio State Buckeyes and his beloved Philadelphia Eagles. You could find Pando on any summer day when he wasn’t working swimming at a neighborhood pool. This was one of his favorite hobbies. Another favorite hobby was traveling internationally, like his sister. Pando traveled to Canada, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Bahamas, England, Scotland, France, Ireland, Belgium, The Netherlands, and of course Ghana. One of his favorite foods was sushi, which he shared in common with his brother-in-law. Finally, Pando became a dog lover, much to everyone’s surprise who knew him. He developed this love of dogs from his girlfriend, Mandy, and inherited her dog, Boma, when they became a couple. After Boma passed, he initiated getting another dog named Boscoe. Boscoe loved Pando very much and he was the best dog dad.

Pando accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as a young person. He re-dedicated his life in his thirties. He attended Columbus Christian Center and Christ International Community Church at various times during his adult years. He knew that Jesus was the only way to God and would have discussions with several of his friends defending this truth and his faith in Jesus.

Left to cherish Pando’s memory are his devoted and loving father and mother Ebenezer & Victoria Brew; beloved daughter and granddaughter Tynesha Garnett-Brew & Yerena Spurley; loving sister and brother-in-law Vicki Kay & James Walker; beloved girlfriend Mandy Politowski, loving aunts and uncles from the Brew family Naomi Brew, Joana & Charles Quartey, Pastor Thomas Brew, Min. Christina & Dr. Seth Anyomi, Josephine Mills, Dorothy & Andrew Wellington, Alice Brew, and Anna & Edward Amartey; loving aunts and uncles form the Engmann family Barbara & Richard Nortey-Yeboah, Evelyn Parkins, Eva & Kofi Opare, Kenneth Bruce, Harriet Bruce, Patricia Bruce, Ernest & Carol Akore, Leonard Lake; a host of cousins and relatives from the Brew, Tackie, Engmann, Lokko, Mould, and Vanderpuije families; and a host of friends.
